Kia Ora!
So I we did a trip to Cape Reinga with my host family and cousins. Cape Reinga is the top of New Zealand which means it's the northest point of North Island. First we drove to Kaitai and did some sight seeing on the way. The next day we joined a tourist bus tour to the lighthouse.
Elikkäs käytiin hostperheen ja -serkkujen kanssa Cape Reingassa, joka on Pohjoissaaren pohjoiskärjessä. Matkalla tuli muutakin mukavaa nähtyä.

My dream about visiting the capital of New Zealand came true thanks to my friend Holly who's host-mum made contact to her old Rotary Club and managed to find a lovely Rotarian to host us. Our two-day trip was definitely worth the 12-hour bus drive. We visited the Weta Cave and workshop, Parliament house and Te Papa museum, had great coffee on the waterfront, rode the iconic Cable Car, did some shopping in an underground market and most importantly caught up with our friends from Wellington. Surprisingly Wellington wasn't too windy this weekend, in fact we had fantastic weather.
Haaveeni päästä vielä ennen lähtöä käymään Uuden Seelanninpääkaupungissa tuli toteen ystäväni Hollyn ansiosta, jonka host-äiti onnistui löytämään meille yösijan entisen Rotary Clubinsa rotarien joukosta. Tosin tämä ihastuttava pariskunta tarjosi meille paljon enemmän kuin yösijan, he toimivat myös turistioppainamme ja taksikuskinamme. Mukava pariskunta mutta ehkä hiukan turhaan hössöttivät, kyllä kaksi vaihtaria osaa julkista liikennettä käyttää ilman että junaan viedään kädestäpitäen :D
Wellingtonissa vierailimme Wetan työpajalla, TePapa -museossa ja parlamenttitalossa, joimme hyvää kahvia, ja shoppailtiin maanalaisilla markkinoila ja tietysti tavattiin Wellingtonissa asuvia vaihtarikavereita.
Vaikka Wellington on kyllä lisänimensä "tuulinen" ansainnut meillä oli hieno sää läpi koko viikonlopun ajan. Tuuli ei edes puhaltanut meitä Victorian vuorelta alas.
